Hi, I'm Nala Kun
I was born in Siberia and entirely self-taught.
My first real teacher wasn't a school, it was my grandmother, watching her hands move through embroidery and woven textiles.
That rhythm stayed with me, and years later it became the foundation of a technique I call TwiddleART, my patented spiral mark-making style.
I moved to the United States and now paint from a light-filled loft in San Francisco.
My work brings together the discipline I inherited from my roots with the energy of the city I now call home.
I've shown my paintings at the Palace of Fine Arts, SOMArts Cultural Center, and Voss Gallery here in San Francisco, as well as institutions back in Russia.
My paintings are part of permanent collections including Stanford University.
When I'm not in the studio, I love curating intimate art walks around San Francisco, small gatherings where collectors and art lovers can connect directly with the city's gallery scene.
